The Vision
Through many prayers, this property was purchased to be a retreat for believers and non-believers to come and rest in the presence of our great Lord and Savior, Jesus. To let the fruits of the Holy Spirit wash over all those that visit. A place to get away from the hustle and bustle of "life" and connect with God.
Focus on having individuals, small groups, couples, families, etc., out to unplug and experience time walking, talking, and sharing with God together. While not a comprehensive list, I can see men's groups coming out and spending a weekend together. I can see couples coming out to reconnect their marriage and relationship with God. I can see small groups/LifeGroups sitting around a fire pit to talk about and dive deeper into the Word of God. I can see families coming out and walking the trails and talking about what they encounter. (With a vision of the trails having flowers, plaques with verses, art, and other visuals to enhance the experience.)
Part of this vision is to also let others help with the different phases, if they feel led. For some, they will be able to "shut off the world" and get a connection and peace with God by running the tractor or sending limbs through the wood chipper. They may be able to have their intimacy with God by plunging their hands in soil and tending to flowers and plants. Some may be able to express their faith through "yard art" displayed on the trail. Whatever it may be, our hope is that this becomes a refuge for His glory and praise.
Guiding Scripture
A few of the scriptures driving this ministry:
Matthew 11:28
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Psalm 42:1-2
As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?
Matthew 22: 36-39
Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’"
Psalm 37:7
Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.
