Current Projects/Needs

Prayers, prayers, prayers... 

• This is highest on the priority list! Prayers for this as a ministry. Prayers that it reaches people that need Him and helps them find peace in His presense. Prayers for all the logisitics of building this retreat. Prayers for the safety of all who are on the property in whatever capacity that may be. Prayers for the "business" and financial side of making this ministry a reality. Prayers that God gets all the glory. 

"Business Logisitcs"

• How to make this a 501(c)(3) and/or get insurance and/or separating out ministry funds with personal funds, etc. This is not my area of expertise, by any means! 

• House! Working on building a modest home on the property so we can be onsite for whatever ministry needs there may be. 

These are some of the biggies currently going on and in the hopper for the future...

• √ Done! -- Electrical/Water... Getting juice to the property - electric to the shed and well. Also getting electric and water to the temp home/camper. (Shout out to Tre Young at Young Electric and Neil Chandler at Chandler Well Service!)

• √ Done! -- Temporary House/Camper... thought about doing a container house to live in temporarily until a house is built but Jill and Chad decided to sell their camper and it will have more space and I won't have to build it! Need to find a place to park it and get electric/water to it.

• √ Done! -- Driveways... Two phases - one for the regular driveway and one for the "maintenance road" driveway. Maintenance road will go toward the west side of the property and have the Maintenance shed, tractor, etc. (Shout out to Ron Fulmer with Mid-Nebraska Aggregate.)

• ! In Progress -- Garden/Greenhouse... creating a garden and greenhouse in the center of the property. (Christmas gift for Vickie!)

• ! In Progress -- Maintenance area... create an area on the west side for a pole barn or container or something for equipment, tools, workshop, etc.

• ! In Progress -- Trash clean up... and LOTS of it! Need to get a roll-off container or something and just get the trash out. 

• ! In Progress -- Mobile home park removal... The property was a mobile home park with infrastructure at the south end of the property. Currently removing the cement pads, utilities, etc. to make this a "receiving" area for guests. 

• ! In Progress -- Mobile home removal... There are 4 mobile homes that need to "get gone". Salvaging the steel I-beams in the trailers, possibly for a pole barn or other structure in the future.

• * Ongoing -- Trail maintenance... mow, box blade, trim trees, etc. Eventually creating trail art, flowers, plants, bird feeders, bird houses, deer/wildlife feeders, benches, etc.

• * Ongoing -- Building fire pits/seating areas... yup. For LifeGroups, etc.

• * Ongoing -- Major Tree Cleanup/Planting/Removal... Lots and lots of dead trees, branches, etc. that need to be cut down, removed, wood chipped. Consulting with the Nebraska Forest Service and NRCS to better manage this. (Shout out to Beth and Janelle.)

• * Ongoing -- Major trash issues... There are several areas that have major trash and/or concrete that need to be dealt with. Some areas will need to be covered with sand/dirt. Some areas can be dozed in. 

• Outhouse... people need a place to "go"!

• Pinterest Project Ideas Board

• Pinterest Yard Art Board (for trailside decorations)

• Would like to explore ideas for glamping pads, tree houses, container cabins and other places to hang out. The current thought is eclectic but not junky. A variety of unique places to stay over night or just spend the day writing, praying, or whatever else.
