The Concert Choir is an auditioned ensemble, performing difficult literature of many
different genres and styles. This ensemble has earned many honors and awards such as
KMEA District and State Distinguished Ratings, Division and Overall Music in the Parks Champions,
and performed at the 2020 KMEA State Conference. The Women's Ensemble is an extension of the Concert Choir.
They have earned KMEA District and State Distinguished Ratings and were selected to sing at the 2023 KMEA State Conference.
The Chorale is the non-auditioned ensemble of the West Jessamine Choral Department, performing challenging literature of different genres and styles. This group is for those who just simply love to sing! The Chorale has earned honors and awards such as KMEA District and State Distinguished Ratings and Music in the Parks Division Champions. The Chorale gives one performance every quarter.
Dually Noted is currently the ONLY competing show choir
in Kentucky, and we keep getting better every year!
In 2023, Dually Noted made history by winning their first Grand Championship at South Dearborn.
The Show Choirs meet as a daily Zero Block class
from 7:45-8:35, along with Monday evening rehearsals.
We focus on a Christmas set and a competition set, with
most competitions taking place in January through March.
Fortissima is our new unisex show choir at West!
They will also meet as a daily Zero Block class
from 7:45-8:35, along with Monday evening rehearsals.
West Side Sound started in the Fall of 2016
as a contemporary a cappella group featuring students from both West Middle and West High.
in 2017, the focus of West Side Sound changed
as a high school group, but it's goal is to continue creating an ensemble that performs a different type of vocal music that traditional choral ensembles would not sing on a regular basis.
West Side Sound meets on Mondays from 4:00-5:00.
Crescendo is Jessamine County's Middle School Show Choir, the first middle school show choir to compete
in the state of Kentucky! Crescendo is comprised of 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade students, and they rehearse
every Wednesday from 4:30-6:00 in the West Jessamine High School Choir Room.
