Google Drive
JCS is a Google district therefore your account comes with a Google Drive account as well. Google Drive is online storage in the cloud, and as a Google Workspace for Education district, there is no size limit to the amount of files in your Google Drive. In addition, G-Suite contains productivity software Docs, Sheets and Slides which are similar to Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, but they are free, and allow for real time collaboration between users. (To learn more about Google, click here!) To access your Google Drive, you will simply go to drive.google.com.
All of our schools have Shared Drives for different departments/grade levels. If you are a teacher, check with your principal or CRA to make sure you have been added to all appropriate shared folders.
Google Classroom
Google Classroom is a way to assign and collect work from your students online. This is especially helpful during NTI (Non Traditional Instruction) days. Visit http://classroom.google.com to create your class. Make sure you choose that you are a teacher so you will be able to create your first class. Need help? Visit our Jessamine County Instructional Technology site.
Google Certified Educator
Google offers teachers the opportunity to become Google Certified Educators. This certification lets everyone know that you are able to use the Google tools in your classroom. You are also welcome to work through the training materials on your own. You can contact your building's Digital Learning Coach for more information.
