Special Events & Series This Summer

Thursdays, 7/17, 8/21, 10:30am: Join Emma Cook on the Town Green for a morning of song and dance. This musical program is geared towards kids 4 and younger, but all are welcome! Come enjoy songs, scarf play, and dances. Free and open to the public.
Saturdays, July 19th & August 2nd, 9am: Spanish language storytime. Cuentos en espanol con Profe Shery!
Saturday, July 26th, 10am: Pet Parade!
The annual Jericho Center Pet Parade will take place on Saturday, July 26th, at 10am. Please pre-register by Thursday, July 24th, to ensure a timely start to the parade. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate same-day registrants.
We are excited to announce that we are slightly revamping the Pet Parade this year. We will have the same wonderful MC, Pete Davis, and we will follow the same Upper Jericho Center Circle route. In the interest of having as much fun as possible and keeping the post-parade ceremonies on schedule, we will no longer have a judging panel. Instead, we will provide prizes to all participants who pre-register by Thursday, July 24th, and we will raffle off three larger prizes immediately following the parade.
Though we don't have prizes for particular costume categories this year, we do have a few suggestions to help guide your costume design! If you are looking for an idea, consider tailoring your costume around the following categories:
Color Our World (this year's Summer Reading Theme - let's see the most colorful costume you can imagine)
Literary Characters & References (dazzle us with a costume straight out of the pages of your favorite book)
Vermont Strong (celebrate the things that you love about our state)
Look-Alikes (dress up in matching costumes to showcase all the similarities between you and your pet)
Library Lovers (show us what you love best about libraries)
“This Land Is Our Land” (a costume category inspired by the Woody Guthrie song This Land Is Your Land - celebrate the things you love about our community, state, and country)
Have an idea that doesn't fit into these categories? We'd love to see it!
