Special Events

*New Monthly Programs for Homeschooling Families*

In 2024, we plan to offer some new activities for homeschooling families. If you are interested in attending (or giving us new program ideas), please fill out this form.

Join us for SPACE CAMP during February break!

In honor of the coming eclipse, we will be hosting five days of activities for kids in preschool and elementary school at the end of February. To ensure that we have enough supplies for everyone, please register in advance. Please feel free to select the sessions that work best for your family; you are welcome to attend as many or as few sessions as you would like.


10am-12pm: Squish paint a planet, all ages, self-guided

1-4pm: Bottle rocket painting, 9+, self-guided


10am-12pm: Galaxy Slime, all ages, facilitated by library staff

1-4pm: Space-themed LEGO Challenges, all ages, self-guided


9:30-10am: Space-themed Storytime Yoga, 0-6, facilitated by library staff

10am-12pm: Pretend to be an astronaut at our unstructured Playgroup, self-guided

1:30-2:30pm: Crafternoon! Come make space mobiles, all ages, facilitated by library staff

3-3:30pm: Bottle Rocket Launch (weather permitting), 9+, facilitated by library staff


10:30-11:30am: Alien Adaptations. Design an animal with adaptations that would help it survive on another planet, all ages, facilitated by library staff

1:30-2:30pm: Constellation Models. Create a model of a constellation (real or imagined), all ages, facilitated by library staff. Younger kids will use stickers, paint, and markers. Kids ages 9+ are invited to use these materials or to make a simple circuit using copper tape and LED lights for their model.


9-10am: Space-themed Romp & Rhyme, babies, toddlers, & their caregivers, facilitated by library staff

1:30pm: Spaceship Launch & Space Exploration, all ages but designed for preschool-2nd grade
