From Mountain to Sea, From Wind to Sun :
4 Elements and Life
The project “From Mountain to Sea, From Wind to Sun: 4 Elements and Life” enables children to learn about different landforms on Earth and the living creatures that inhabit these areas. It guides them in discovering the importance of the four basic elements—earth, water, air, and fire (sun)—in living organisms. Throughout the project, children learn about living and non-living things in nature, the basic needs of living organisms, and the impact of landforms on living organisms. This helps them develop a love of nature and environmental awareness, with the goal of helping them understand the world we live in holistically.
Aims
They will know the four basic elements that living things need for life (air, water, soil, and sun). They will be able to explain the importance of the four elements (soil, water, air, and fire) for living things. They will be able to identify landforms such as mountains, plains, plateaus, lakes, seas, rivers, deserts, and volcanoes. They will be able to establish a connection between the habitats of living things and landforms. They will develop a love of nature and environmental awareness. They will gain a sense of responsibility towards animals, plants, and natural resources. They will reinforce sharing, helping, and solidarity through group work, joint activities, and collaboration
Expected Results
Children will develop environmental awareness and raise awareness about protecting nature. This will contribute to the development of more sensitive, responsible, and conscious individuals in society. Through activities organized during international days, children will become familiar with global environmental problems and learn to take small steps toward solutions. Nature-based education will develop children's curiosity, observation skills, and scientific thinking skills. Children will develop a holistic connection with nature by embracing the understanding that "The Earth is our home."
