Elective Subjects
Learners select 3 electives subjects from the subjects listed below.
Please consider the following:
Maths-Intensive Subjects:
Certain elective subjects require a proficiency in Mathematics for the learner to be able to cope with the subject. These are:
Accounting requires a Mathematics average of 60%
IT requires a Mathematics average of 60%
Physical Sciences requires a Mathematics average of 60%
Time-Intensive Subjects:
We strongly recommend that a learner take no more than 2 elective subjects with a Practical Assessment Task (PAT) component because of the additional hours (afternoons, weekends and school holidays) that must be spent completing the PAT. Subjects that include a PAT component are:
CAT, Dramatic Arts, EGD, IT and Visual Arts.
Note: The following subjects are timetabled together therefore learners may only select ONE or the OTHER but not both:
Life Sciences and Dramatic Arts
CAT and IT
Accounting and Visual Arts
