JEM Video on How the Gemini Interface changes 5:01min
You can (and often should) ask for modifications in the next chat (prompt) box. It's a conversation, a process.
Note: This works for most variations of Gemini, but not for "Deep Research".
Interface note: To start a new line in the chat box, hold down one of the following keys while pressing "enter": (Shift, Cmd, Ctrl, Alt - it varies with machine type and browser).
The more you define what you want, the more satisfying your result will be
Audience - Who the result is intended for
Author - What kind of person is writing the response
Format - What format do you want - Table, bullets ....
Tone - What is the character of the writing - serious, humorous ...
Context - Is this part of a course, or a research study ......

Most people use the free account
You "pay" for this because they use your data to target advertising
The plan for individuals who use Google a lot is - AI Pro
You pay about $20/month - about the same as the other big players
You can make videos
Many more "Thinking" submissions - it mostly affects images
Lots more Google storage - only matters if use Google Drive
We are in a time of very, very fast development of the underlying Large Language Models (LLMs) by all the major players: Google (Gemini); OpenAI (ChatGPT); Anthropic (Claude); Meta; Grok; DeepSeek.
This means that the model used in their web interface may change regularly, usually for the better.
Currently (11/24/2025) Google has just shifted to Gemini 3.0 with variations on it depending on how you want to use it, and how much you want to pay.
Free is fine for most people
AI Pro, at $20/month, is good for people who want to use it a lot.
FWIW - I pay for:
Gemini - For most things
Perplexity - For shopping and quick current events
It mostly customizes models from the major vendors
Copilot - Microsoft's customization of models mostly from OpenAI and Anthropic. It is deeply integrated into all MS products.
