Our theater tech class works hard in and out of school, building sets, designing lights and sound, painting, and so much more to help put on a show!
"I have learned how to operate a lighting board and how to design lights for a musical/play. I've also been able to lead groups of people as department head giving me leadership skills." -Lailana Fitzpatrick, Production Manager (12)
"Despite doing it all, my biggest areas in tech are the fly system, set building, and stage managing." -Mari Terheyden, Fly (12)
"Theater Tech provides students with realistic experiences in the theater arts. We learn about all the different departments." -Julia Eliares, Paint (11)
In Fog Fest 2024, the Theater Arts Department created a float to showcase different elements of tech! The float was featured in the parade, and this project encouraged new students to work in teams and advanced techies to try something they never have done before.
This project is the final project of the first semester. Each student has three minutes to choose three pieces of wood scraps. Then, they have three minutes to attach them and create an abstract piece. In their remaining three minutes, they can decorate their piece.
Fables is a project that is run at the beginning of the year and the end of the year. In this photo, an advanced techie made an adaptation of Hamlet and put it on in the theater. However, at the beginning of the year, the fables are held in the drama room. This project is an intro to theater basics and lets new students discover what departments they want to be in.
"The friends that I have made over the years." --- Aydin Urbat, Lighting Techie (11)
"In most classes, you talk about what you're going to do, in tech, students are always running around making sets or painting" --- Maggie Sieferman, Sound Department Head (12)
"My favorite part of tech is the set construction and real-life skills I get from being in this class" --- Brandon Birch, Set Construction Head (12)

Our program is always accepting donations! We have an Amazon wish list for certain materials we need, but any donations are appreciated. However, if you can't donate we also love and appreciate your time! Parents can come to rehearsal at any time to help use equipment and pass on knowledge to the students!
We are currently working on our spring musical, Mamma Mia! Please go to the "Upcoming Show" page to learn more!
