JESD LIBRARIES

Mission Statement

The mission of the JESD Library/Media Services Program is to create a safe, nurturing place where learners thrive and fulfill their potential. The library/media program aims to provide:

  • equity of access to information.

  • a variety of informational resources, literature, and recreational reading.

  • library and information literacy skills.

  • a collaborative environment in which students, teachers, staff, and administration become effective users and producers of information.

The library is a place to foster a love of reading and inquiry, and to ultimately develop patterns of lifelong learning.

Vision

All JESD students will learn meaningful skills that they can apply to their lives. The JESD Library Program will boost students’ learning of library and information literacy skills so that these students can be effective users and producers of information. The program strives to develop a lifelong love of learning through inquiry and reading.

Values

The JESD Library Program embraces learning, curiosity, the freedom to read, and collaboration.
