YPAS Concerto Competition
The annual YPAS concerto competition, held at the beginning of each school year, is open to all the YPAS junior and seniors who play an instrument or sing. Many outstanding YPAS students have entered this competition. For the first round, they perform for all the YPAS music faculties, and for the final round, they will perform for adjudicators who are professional musicians or university music faculties. Three most outstanding young musicians are chosen to receive this highest honor at YPAS and to perform with full orchestra during the school year.

Colin Selch, Trumpet
Hello! My name is Colin Selch, and I am currently a junior at YPAS. Some ensembles that I am a member of are the YPAS Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, LYO Symphony Orchestra, Manual Marching Band, and the Wind Ensemble which will be featured at the Midwest Clinic this December! I’ve also been selected for All County, and All State ensembles such as the Symphony Orchestra as principal trumpet my sophomore year. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to perform with the YPAS Orchestra this December, and I am super excited for all the different performances that YPAS has to offer this year!
