Due to JCPS facilities being closed for inclement weather, 26-27 Auditions will be held VIRTUALLY. An email from Ms. Cayce Crowder Abelard was sent to applicants with virtual audition information. Please follow instructions to attend the scheduled Google Meet with Ms. Barbosa on Saturday, January 24th, and submit your audition video by Sunday, January 25th. duPont Manual HS Students - "non-YPAS Majors":
If students are in another Magnet Program at duPont Manual HS and are interested in applying for YPAS Orchestras as a non-YPAS major, their auditions will happen after-school in the beginning of May of 2026. You can find more information via your Freshman Counselor and fill out the 2026 YPAS Music Electives Audition Form (*Note: this form will close on May 1st). Once you fill out the form, you will be contacted by Ms. Barbosa via email with Audition Instructions.
The Audition Requirements are the same provided above. Non-YPAS Majors are not required to submit written materials such as Resume, Recommendation Letters, and One-Page Essay, however, if admitted to the YPAS Orchestras, they will be expected to follow all program guidelines available in the YPAS Orchestra Handbook.
