While the Audition Requirements are not yet available for the 27-28 school year, if interested in auditioning to YPAS Orchestras, please consider joining us at the YPAS Open House on Thursday, November 5th, 2026 at 6 PM at YPAS. You will not only meet Ms. Barbosa and receive the audition package then, but you will also learn on how to apply to duPont Manual via JCPS plataforms, how to submit written materials such as Resume, Recommendation Letters, and One-Page Essay, and answer all the questions you may have about the applications.

Non-Major Audition Information

duPont Manual HS Students ("non-YPAS Majors"):

If students are in another Magnet Program at duPont Manual HS and are interested in applying for YPAS Orchestras as a non-YPAS major, their auditions will happen after-school in the beginning of May of 2027. You can find more information via your Freshman Counselor and fill out the 2027 YPAS Music Electives Audition Form (*Note: this form will close on May 1st). Once you fill out the form, you will be contacted by Ms. Barbosa via email with Audition Instructions and a Google Form for you to fill out and confirm your audition.

The Audition Requirements are the same provided above. Non-YPAS Majors are not required to submit written materials such as Resume, Recommendation Letters, and One-Page Essay, however, if admitted to the YPAS Orchestras, they will be expected to follow all program guidelines available in the YPAS Orchestra Handbook.
