2023-24

Hello Westport Famlies,

My name is Todd Koch, and I am the 6th grade counselor here at Westport.  Before I became a school counselor, I was a middle school Language Arts teacher here in JCPS.  I am originally from Louisville, and I attended Spalding University and the University of Louisville for my teaching and school counseling degrees.  I have three children who did attend or currently attend JCPS schools:  Graham, age 28; Kendall, age 14; and Kyla, age 12.  I am thrilled to have Kyla here with me at Westport on the 7th grade Owls team this year!  In my spare time, I love travelling, golfing, mountain biking, camping, fishing, playing sports, and doing anything else outdoors.

This is my 13th year here at Westport, where I am able to help students with a variety of things, including:

·         Helping to create a positive and respectful learning environment

·         Providing support during a personal crisis

·         Coordinating referrals to outside agencies

·         Delivering classroom lessons that address academic and social needs

·         Working with students on attendance issues

·         Providing individual and small group counseling

·         Helping students set and achieve personal goals

·         Working with students, teachers, and parents to identify student needs and design intervention to enhance success

·         Developing student career awareness

I look forward to working with you over the course of the school year on your child’s academic, social, emotional, and personal needs.  If you have any questions, please contact me at (502) 586-6143 or email me at david.koch@jefferson.kyschools.us.

Go Warhawks!
