School’s Mission and Vision

ALL students in the State Agency Children’s programs will transition with the acquired skills necessary to make transformative social, emotional and academic choices. Our students will become confident, independent, critical thinkers who are culturally responsive, contributing members of society. To achieve this vision, we will follow the district's 3 Pillars and 6 Systems. Our North Star is connectedness and is essential to supporting students while they are in our State Agency Programs.

These systems will allow us to provide ALL students with robust and diverse opportunities within a safe, collaborative, and student-centered environment where each student develops socially, emotionally, and academically.

JCPS State Agency Schools integrate education and treatment in a safe environment for students. We strive to help students develop a love for learning, a positive plan for the future, a respect for diversity, and an appreciation of self as a productive member of the community.

Please utilize the State Agency Programs Directory to contact the program if you have any questions or need records, etc. Each tab provides more information on the individual programs.

School Programs

The JCPS State Agency Children’s Programs consist of 13 unique residential and day treatment centers that work collaboratively with treatment partners to provide a therapeutic and rehabilitative school environment. Students are placed in the JCPS/State Agency Children’s Programs through a court commitment, a psychiatric hospitalization, or an identified need for long-term treatment of emotional or behavioral concerns. The teaching staff of the JCPS State Agency Children’s Programs provide instruction in small classes, with an average student-teacher ratio of 10:1. Emphasis is placed on priority standards, individual instruction, and successful transition to home.
