Four Course Sequence

  • Sophomore Year = Introduction to Law (1 credit)

  • Junior Year, Fall Semester =Criminal Law and Procedure* (1 credit)

  • Junior Year, Spring Semester = Civil Law and Procedure* (1 credit)

  • Senior Year = Advanced Legal Practice (1 credit)

*Civil Law and Criminal Law are double-blocked, meaning the class will be two periods on your schedule. This allows our students the opportunity to earn a full credit in a semester.

Seneca Pre-Law Curriculum Map

Students in Introduction to Law participate in a Socratic Circle discussion. This one focused on the First Amendment, specifically professional athletes taking a knee during the national anthem. Seneca Pre-Law provides countless opportunities for students to work on their public speaking skills.

Opportunity to Earn College Credit

  • You will take the NOCTI Criminal Justice Advanced Industry Certification during your junior and senior years at Seneca. If you score a 70% or higher, you are eligible for 3 credit hours at various colleges and universities. For more information on the NOCTI, click HERE.

Ellen B. Ewing Courtroom

At Seneca, we have our very own courtroom in the building. It is equipped with the same JAVS recording equipment every court in Kentucky has. JAVS allows us to record and save your mock trials and other courtroom appearances for your JCPS Backpack.
