Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award deadline 11-15-23 final deadline for 2023-2024 year
Requirements: The Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award is a one-time, non-renewable, need-based grant of up to $10,000 given in conjunction with full participation in From the Top’s Learning and Media Lab Fellowship. Each year, From the Top chooses approximately 20 pre-collegiate musicians ages 8-18 to receive the Award.

Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest deadline 11-30-23
Requirements: Must be 18 years+ to enter. The Grand Prize, Readers’ Choice prize, Natural World, Travel, People, The American Experience, Artistic Images and Drone/Aerial category prizes are open to photographers who are 18 years old or older. Individuals affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution, including employees, emeriti, Regents, trustees, interns, volunteers, fellows, research associates and their immediate families (children, parents, siblings and spouses) and others living in their households are not eligible for any prize. The Smithsonian will determine winners’ eligibility in its sole discretion. Six category options to submit. Check out website for more information.

Americanism Essay Contest for grades 7-12 deadline 12-01-23
Requirements: FRA sponsors an annual essay contest to promote the spirit of Americanism and patriotism among our country’s youth. FRA's Americanism Essay Contest is open to all students, grades 7 through 12, including those who are home schooled. Students are invited to submit a 350-word essay through an FRA member or local FRA branch before the December 1st deadline. Local winners are forwarded for competition at the regional level and regional winners compete for national prizes.

National Space Club and Foundation Keynote Scholar Application deadline 12-04-23
Requirements: High school seniors intending to pursue a career in STEM fields.
Additional Requirements for Eligibility: The applicant must be a U.S. citizen. The scholarship is open to seniors in high school through graduate students. The applicant must have the intention of pursuing a career in the STEM fields and plan to attend an accredited U.S. college or university to follow a course of study to pursue a career in the STEM field, with a preference for those with space related interests. The applicant can only use the $15,000.00 scholarship towards tuition for the 2023-2024 academic year. The applicant must not have previously spoken at the Dr. Robert H. Goddard Memorial Dinner.

Rubincam Youth Writing Competition deadline 12-15-23 (Annual)
Requirements: “To encourage and recognize our youth as the next generation of family historians.”
Categories:
Senior: High school students in grades 9–12 at the time of submission. The award winner receives a $500 cash prize, a plaque, and a one-year NGS membership (non-print). Presentation details of the winning submission may appear in NGS Magazine. (This was the only category in the Rubincam Youth Writing Competition until 2007.)
Junior: Middle school students in grades 6–8 at the time of submission. The award winner receives a $250 cash prize, a plaque, and a one-year NGS membership (non-print). Presentation details of the winning submission may appear in NGS Magazine. (This category was established in 2007.)

This year, forty scholarships will be awarded a total of $86,000 in grants.

Jefferson County Retired Teachers AssociationEducation Scholarship deadline 3-15-24
Requirements: All applicants are asked to write a one-page, typed essay on their reasons for choosing education as a career. Specific examples would enhance the quality of the essay.
In addition to the essay, students must meet the following criteria:
• Students must have a minimum of 2.0 cumulative GPA for high school and be enrolled as a full-time student for 2024-2025 school year at a community college or university.
• Students must submit three letters of recommendation. One should be from a teacher, one should be from an administrator, and one should be from a member of the local community. All letters must be typed.
• Students must submit the application, essay, letters of recommendation, and a copy of their transcript, including ACT scores, to fugatemyra@gmail.com on or before March 15, 2024.

Requirements: The Ingwerson Youth Achievement Scholarship is awarded to a JCPS senior with significant interest and strong commitment to pursuing a career in education. Applicants with a 2.8 or higher will be considered.

JCFB ANDREW WAYNE BUTLER MEMORIAL AGRICULTURAL SCHOLARSHIP deadline 4-30-24
Requirements: Jefferson County Farm Bureau will award one scholarship per year to a student pursuing a degree in an agriculture-related field. The amount of this scholarship is $2,000 per semester, with a cap of $16,000. Scholarships can be applied to tuition, housing, books, supplies, etc. Payments are made directly to the student and will be distributed after successful completion of each college semester. Applicants will be judged on leadership, scholarship, and financial need.

JCTA Exemplary Student Scholarship deadline 5-10-24
Requirements: JCTA is offering $1000 Exemplary Student Scholarships to two Jefferson County Public School seniors. Scholarship funds will be released upon receipt of the recipient’s class schedule with the official seal submitted by August 30, 2025. Scholarship applications must be received by 5:00 pm on Friday, May 10, 2024.
Students must complete this Google form in its entirety.
