All students entering the Health Sciences Academy as sophomores will be placed in the Allied Health pathway. Students will complete their sophomore and Junior year as Allied Health pathway students earning 3 credits and taking the Allied Health Healthcare Core Nocti to become "career ready". Their Senior year they will be given the choice of which capstone course to take. This decision should be based on their career choice and their interest. Once students are in their senior capstone course they will work toward additional certifications within the specified field or they can complete the Allied Health Pathway. Capstones and industry certifications are listed below.
The Pre-Nursing pathway allows students to gain experience within the classroom, lab, and clinical hours alongside their instructor, Mrs. Ferguson. Students choosing the Pre-Nursing pathway will earn an additional Medicaid Nurse Aide (MNA) industry certification.

PCT pathway teaches our students to care for a patient's basic needs while supporting them medically. Students in the Patient Care Technician pathway will earn an additional Acute Care Nurses Assistant industry credential.
Capstone Course: Acute Care Patient Technician
Students within this pathway will learn first-hand what it means to be a pharmacist. Taught by Mr. Thompson, students work to learn about medicine in our state-of-the-art pharmacy lab. Students in the Pharmacy Technician pathway will earn an additional Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) through NHA Pharmacy.
