Magnet and Choice Schools

Magnet schools offer unique, schoolwide curricula and accept applications from students throughout the district, and JCPS provides transportation for most students who are accepted. Magnet programs focus on specific subjects (such as science, technology, engineering, and math) or provide a specialized learning environment (such as a traditional school).

Choice schools offer unique learning environments to meet the needs of JCPS students. These schools offer options for students like virtual or online learning, blended learning, internship opportunities, and small class sizes. Choice schools serve students using individualized learning plans, interest-based projects; and targeted social-emotional support.
