A school counselor is a certified mental health professional supporting all K-12 students in their social/emotional, academic and career development. Through a comprehensive school counseling program, school counselors provide data-informed, universal and targeted learning experiences to develop the whole child in a diverse society. 

It is vital that school counselors have the access and ability to provide face-to-face services for students. A school counselor is required to spend 60% of their time providing counseling and related services directly to student (SB8 Section 4. KRS 158.4416).

To foster the development of each students’ academic, career, and social/emotional growth while also fostering the recognition, acceptance, and appreciation of ethnic and cultural diversity. 

Vision Statement

Students at Meyzeek Middle School will apply their self-awareness, mindfulness skills, and self-regulation to graduate prepared to successfully achieve personal and professional post-secondary goals. Students will use their insightfulness and creativity to access resources in their home, school, and community that foster and support their full potential in a diverse, shared world.
