Choral/Vocal Assessments - Terri Foster, Louisville Youth Choir

Pertinent information for the District 12 Choral/Vocal Assessments

for the 2020-2021 School Year:

• Ballard High School (Noel Weaver) has been contacted regarding in-person assessment dates in March of 2021 (Dates TBD)

• UofL School of Music (Dr. Kent Hatteberg) has been contacted regarding in-person assessment date in April of 2021 (Date TBD)

• Following the KMEA Assessment Manager Meeting on September 12, 2020, a survey was issued to all Assessment Managers regarding viability of in-person or virtual assessments for Large Ensemble and Solo & Ensemble within all KMEA Districts and assessment areas (Band, Choral/Vocal & Orchestra)

  • This survey was answered utilizing the hope of having in-person assessment events in 2021 but also leaving the option open for virtual participation if this is not possible for District 12 Choral/Vocal Assessment Events.

  • The request was also made to KMEA leadership, that if at all possible, for decisions to be made regarding offerings by November 1, 2020 since District 12 Choral Large Assessment plans are made prior to the holiday break in December.

• As of the September 21, 2020 KMEA District 12 Meeting, nothing official from KMEA based on the survey has been proposed. Nothing official has been planned to date.

• Updates will be sent via email as soon as decisions are made.

• In the meantime, please be sure that your school is registered with KMEA and that as a teacher, your NAfME membership is current.
