Basic Functions and Tips

  • Make a Call - Pickup the handset, press the Speakerphone Key, or press Headset Key and dial the 10 Digit Phone Number or Extension: EX: 502-123-4567. *You do not have to press 9 to reach an outside line.*

  • Make a Second call (while on an active call): Press the Line Key that isn't active and dial the number. This will automatically place the current caller on hold. To switch back to the original caller, press the corresponding Line Key. This will place the second caller on hold.

  • Answering Calls - Once the phone is ringing pick up the handset, press the Speakerphone Key, or press the Headset Key.

  • Checking Voicemail - Dial *86 or press Home Key > Messages > and select Message Center. This will prompt you to enter your Voicemail PIN. After you enter this correctly, you'll have access to your voicemail and adjust your voicemail greeting.

  • Transfer Call Options - Warm Transfer, Blind Transfer, and Transfer to Voicemail

      • Warm Transfer - This allows you to speak to the consulting party before transferring the call and provide details about the call.

          • While on a call, press the Transfer Key or Transfer softkey and this will place the caller on hold. Input the phone number or extension and press Send. This will connect you to the transfer destination. Once you're ready to complete the transfer press the Transfer softkey. Complete. Just remember the 4 steps. Transfer > Extension > Send > Transfer.

      • Blind Transfer - Will send the call to the phone number or extension. If they do not answer then it will go to their voicemail.

          • While on a call, press the Transfer Key or Transfer softkey and this will place the caller on hold. Input the phone number or extension and press the Blind softkey, and then press the Send soft key. Complete. Just remember the 4 steps. Transfer > Extension > Blind > Send.

      • Transfer to Voicemail - Will send the call to an extension's voicemail

          • Same steps as Blind Transfer, except add *0 is added to the extension. EX: User extension is 4007 so the process would be Transfer, *04007, Blind, Send.

          • If the extension is at a different site, it would be *0 4004007. Press send or wait 3 seconds to complete.

  • 3-way calls (Conference Calling)

          • There needs to be two active calls on the phone to initiate a 3-way call

          • Press the More soft key and select Join to combine active calls into a conference

          • End Call softkey will end your call but NOT the conference

          • Split softkey will separate the calls and place them on hold

Softkey Setup

  • Recent (Shows recent Call information - This would be the same as going to: Home > 3. Directories > 3. Recent Calls)

  • Directory (Searchable Directory - This would be the same as going to: Home > 3. Directories > 2. Corporate Directory)

  • Forward (Unconditional Forward to a phone number or extension. Press Forward again to disable)

    • Example Forward > Select from (Always, No Answer, Busy) > enter number/ext > press “Enable”
