JCPS Adult Education’s English as a Second Language (ESL) program helps adult learners strengthen their English speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Classes support everyday communication, employment, continued education, and greater confidence in the community. Instruction is available for a variety of skill levels in a welcoming and supportive environment.

You must be at least 18 years old to join an ESL class.
You choose a class location and schedule that work for you.
Be prepared to attend class regularly and arrive on time.
Registration and classes are 100% free
English test is required for enrollment
All classes are taught in English
No children, friends or family members are allowed during onsite during class time.
Arrange transportation and childcare before classes begin.
Plan to arrive early for your test appointment.
A working phone number and email address is required so we can contact you.
