Future State of Technology
"Pedagogy is the driver. Technology is the Accelerator."
The JCPS Future State of Technology outlines the future of technology and its integration into the classrooms across our district and into the learning process.
The use of technology in education allows JCPS to enable personalized and self-paced learning, facilitate collaboration and communication among students and teachers, support teachers using a variety of teaching methods, and provide access to a wealth of educational resources and materials.
Through the JCPS Future State of Technology and the Digital Transformation, we establish a foundation of access, digital instruction, and technical equity for all JCPS students!
The Future State & the JCPS Digital Transformation
The goal of the Future State of Technology and the JCPS Digital Transformation is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of teaching and learning and to better prepare students for success in an increasingly digital world. In JCPS, this goal is being achieved through the integration of technology and digital tools into teaching, learning, and other organizational and business processes.
JCPS is advancing toward these goals in a variety of ways:
Providing ALL students with access to high-quality instructional devices
Incorporating digital resources and materials into the curriculum
Using technology to facilitate collaboration and communication among students, teachers, and other stakeholders
Leveraging technology to track and assess student progress
Implementing online learning programs and distance education initiatives
Digital transformation in schools is not just about introducing technology for technology's sake, but rather about finding ways to use technology to enhance the learning experience and better meet the needs of students.
