It is both a pleasure and privilege to help lead the work of guiding future STEMinists to limitless possibilities. I look forward to  empowering, activating and illuminating both G.E.M.S. and GEM - Keepers each and every day, and to assist them in proudly wear their CROWNS! Rita Pierson says it best  ―  “Every child deserves a champion  an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.”  

I am truly excited and honored to be an assistant principal at Grace M. James Academy of Excellence and continue the legacy of achieving academic success It is highly important to establish a solid foundation and support the new G.E.M.S. as they get acclimated to learning in innovative ways that are tailored to their unique and diverse needs while exhibiting their values of C.R.O.W.N. My goal is for every student to feel confident, empowered, and supported throughout their entire educational journey and be fully prepared for the endless possibilities that await them. Queen Latifah's words best describe the overall experience at GMJ; "Be bold, be brave enough to be your true self.”

I am thrilled to be serving the G.E.M.S. at the Grace James Academy of Excellence as a middle school assistant principal! I believe wholeheartedly that every single girl can and will achieve academic success as they explore their limitless potential with our phenomenal Gem-Keepers leading the way. I am looking forward to building strong partnerships with families and G.E.M.S to ensure every girl is getting the best possible education while meeting their individual needs and sparking their interests in the STEAM world through an Afrocentric lens. I have many years of experience in education, and I have been at the fabulous Grace James Academy since its opening, so I can say from experience that our G.E.M.S. are the most amazing, brilliant, talented students, and I am so grateful for what they teach me every day! I can’t wait to see them wear their CROWNS proudly this year! T

I am honored to serve as an assistant principal at Grace M. James Academy of Excellence. With over 15 years of serving students in JCPS, I bring my passion of SEL, building strong student-family relationships, community partnerships, and equity to the G.E.M.S at GMJ. I pledge to be a vital component of the innovative learning community. In the words of Serena Williams: “The success of every woman should be the inspiration to another. We should raise each other up.” 

It is an absolute honor to work alongside everyone at Grace James as we create a space where GEMS can thrive and flourish educationally and personally. I am committed to making sure that each GEMS voice is heard and that they are celebrated during their time at Grace James. "Anything you do, let it come from you. I am proud to be a Counselor at the Grace James Academy of Excellence. I have been an educator for 20 years and have a passion for helping all students reach their full potential.  My mission is to meet the social, emotional, and academic needs of our students by empowering our girls to be to be the G.E.M.S they are destined to be. I am looking forward to meeting each and every one of them.

As a Gemkeeper, I am committed to preparing our G.E.M.S.  for greatness by ensuring they receive opportunities to discover their strengths using C.R.O.W.N. values. I will provide G.E.M.S. with academic and social-emotional support while exploring college & career opportunities.  I am committed to working with all G.E.M.S. and other stakeholders to provide opportunities for collaboration, excellence, and growth in our school community

I am excited to continue my journey as a school counselor here at Grace M. James Academy of Excellence. I am looking forward to upholding the wonderful legacy that is being built at Grace James. As a former math teacher, I am enthusiastic about learning and connecting our G.E.M.S. to more STEAM opportunities, while also helping them explore their post-secondary options. I am eager to support our 8th-grade GEMS through their last year of middle school and as they transition to high school.
