This is the official website for the Farnsley Middle School Counseling Department. The counseling department works with families to provide support and access to resources to help ensure success at the middle school level. We work as student advocates with individuals, small groups, and large groups of students to provide academic, social, and behavioral support. We collaborate with teachers, administrators, and clerical staff to help students overcome academic, social, and behavioral obstacles.
6th Grade Counselor - Tanay Moore tanay.moore@jefferson.kyschools.us
Hello, my name is Tanay Moore. I am excited to join Farnsley as the 6th Grade Counselor. This is my 2nd year as a Counselor and 6th year in Education.
I am looking forward to supporting students as they transition into middle school. 6th grade is an important year of growth, and I am here to help students navigate their social, emotional, academic, and career development needs. My goal is to ensure every student feels supported, valued, and empowered to succeed.
I am married to my amazing husband, and we have three children ages 10, 7, and 3. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, trying new restaurants, reading, and watching a good movie.
I look forward to partnering with families and staff to make this a successful and positive year for our students!
7th Grade Counselor - Dr. Kevin Gunn
kevin.gunn@jefferson.kyschools.us
Greetings, 7th-grade students and families. My name is Dr. Kevin Gunn, and I am proud to be your counselor. 7th-grade is an interesting time. I relate it as to being a middle child, as I am one. Finding your place in a family can sometimes feel overwhelming with an older sibling (8th-grade) and a younger sibling (6th-grade). I want to be here to help you navigate this course. I am learning to follow the lead of my students ' this school year, and give them the space that they need to express themselves. Although, the self-express should not cause danger or harm to themselves or other students. Simply put, I'm here to help.
I am married to a beautiful educator who inspired me to become one. We have five adult children, and four grandchildren, one of which iclose to my students ages. I am a HUGE comic book geek, and I like DC and MARVEL equally.
Student success is a partnership between the school, the student, and the parent/guardian. It is important that we work together to nuture and build future leaders. I am grateful to be a part of the process.
Schedule a meeting with me here.
