To help spread the love of diversity awareness to Lowe students in a fun and engaging way, the Lowe Library is hosting monthly book readings.
How the Program Works:
STEP 1:
Each month students have the opportunity to listen to a pre-recorded book(s) read by a wonderful Lowe staff member(s) focusing on different themes relating to diversity awareness. The stories will be pre-recorded to allow teachers flexibility to choose a day and time throughout the month to listen to the story and do the activity with their class.
Click on the drop down menu above to access the theme for each month.
STEP 2:
After listening to the story, students will complete a quick diversity reflection sheet about the story. Click on the slides to the left and print copies of the reflection sheets for your students.
The first time doing this activity, please show students the Mirror/Window page of this website (click on the menu above).
STEP 3:
After the students complete the assignment, teachers will complete a quick and simple form indicating their class completed the activity.
The link to the form is under the picture on the right.
Classes participating in the program will recieve a
participation poster for their classroom door and a
chance to win books for their class library in May.
