PROCESS:
We looked at the website KY School Report Card
We added the name of our school - Conway Middle.
Even though we knew that our school was not doing well, we did not expect that we are in the RED.
We looked at school enrollment, demographics, race, and academic performance in reading and mathematics based on grade level.
Comments from students:
I never knew that we had so many homeless students.
I did not realize that we have so less number of teachers.
We are not far away from Farnsley or Stuart in the data.
Students were surprised by the following data:
Total number of students whose parents and/or guardians attended at least one teacher conference - 14 students
How low reading and math scores are.
How few proficient and distinguished students are in Conway.
SCHOOL DEMOGRAPHICS
BEHAVIOR EVENTS 21-22
We hope to come up with some solutions for Conway.
Based on our findings, and class discussion, we will conduct a survey within our school.
With the results, we will present to our staff and admin what could be possible solutions to improve the academic performance, behavioral events, and culture within the school.
We will also compare data from other schools, and seek feedback from students or teachers.
