Principal

Meet Our Principal

Jack Jacobs (he/him)

Hi there Bulldogs! I'm a proud JCPS employee and even prouder Bloom Elementary principal. I first started working for JCPS in 1995 as an 18-year old ECE Instructional Assistant. Over the years I've also been a 5th grade teacher, Computer Lab teacher, special are teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and of course now principal. I have a Bachelor's degree in sociology and Master's of Arts in Teaching from UofL (Go Cards!); principal's certification from IUS; and PhD in Social Justice from Bellarmine University (Go Knights!). While I was in the classroom I received my National Board Certification.

At Bloom Elementary, we provide life-enriching opportunities so that students are empowered to become the best version of themselves. Our vision is to become a world leader in individualized student growth. The Bloom learning community motivates students to love learning and value the importance of education by providing a holistic approach to achieving proficiency.

On a personal note, my husband Andrew and I were married on November 3, 2019. We have the cutest puppies named Howard AKA Howie and OG (see below).
