DO YOU NEED TO CHANGE YOUR CHILD'S TRANSPORTATION?

If for some reason you need to change your child(ren)'s transportation and they need to go home a different way than what is on file at Bloom, please submit this Google Form LINK by 1:50p or send in a note explaining the change. Otherwise, All children will be dismissed according to the transportation plan on file.

DISMISSAL NUMBERS

All families will be given a set of their dismissal number at the beginning of each school year. These paper dismissal numbers are required to pickup students. What happens if you, a grandparent, etc. doesn't have a paper dismissal number? It's all fine, you'll just have to wait out on the front porch of Bloom until our big dismissal rush is over and show your ID. Each family is given enough dismissal numbers to last an entire year and even to share with multiple family members and friends. Dismissal tags will be available at the following events and the week leading up to the first day of school:

BUS RIDERS

School buses load and unload on Lucia Avenue in front of Bloom.

Starting on the first day of school, please have your child(ren) ride the bus how they will throughout the year. You're invited to put them on the bus, drive to Bloom to meet them as they exit the bus, and take a photo before they head into school.

For student safety, no cars should pull up or stop on Lucia Avenue during arrival and dismissal. These NO STOPPING times are between 6:35a & 7:50a and between 1:35p & 2:50p. It is against the law for cars to stop in the bus zone during these times. If we recognize Bloom families who are breaking this rule, we will send you messages asking you to follow our arrival and dismissal plan. Also, Bloom staff will report cars to authorities. Cars parked in the us zone during these times will be ticketed and towed by Louisville Metro Police. Safety is our #1 priority.

CAR RIDERS

Car riders are dropped off and picked up at the covered back porch and enter Bloom's back alley door. Staff members greet and welcome students at the covered porch each morning and assist with loading cars safely  each afternoon.

The back alley is one-way that runs from Baxter Avenue towards Bardstown Road and turns left at the end of the alley, exiting onto Ellwood Avenue. Car rider families shall approach the alley from northbound Baxter Avenue and turn right into the alley.

As mentioned above, each family is given several dismissal tags, which also are designed to hang from your rear-view mirror. Please hang your dismissal tag from your rear-view mirror during the entirety of afternoon pickup. Staff members stand at the end of the alley and use radios to call numbers into the school. Staff members verify dismissal numbers at the covered porch as well. This means that we need to see the dismissal tag throughout the alleyway - so please leave the tag up until your child is loading their car. Families are provided plenty of dismissal tags to share with designated family or pick-up persons. Anyone who does not have the official dismissal tag for the current school year must provide a photo ID at the front porch after the dismissal rush. This will be a hassle for you because you will need to find a place to park (not in the alley or on Lucia Avenue) and then walk to the front of Bloom - so make sure you have your dismissal tag.

WALKERS

Morning walkers enter through the front door between 7:00a until 7:30a. Afternoon walker dismissal meet caregivers/families on the playground between 2:10p and 2:25p. Parents form a line on the ramp, a staff member will enter your dismissal tag number, and you'll be asked to wait in an area/zone for your child to exit Bloom.

Caregivers/family members picking up walkers must bring their dismissal tag to the staff member entering numbers into a computer. Anyone who does not have the official dismissal tag for the current school year must provide a photo ID at the front porch after the dismissal rush, which will be 2:25p. #BringYourTag

CEP

Bloom's CEP is an on-site after school childcare program managed by the YMCA. At Bloom there is no morning CEP childcare. Bloom staff provides morning childcare starting at 7:00a. Bloom's CEP option is only for after-school childcare. For more information, contact the YMCA CEP office at 502-637-1575.

EARLY SIGN-OUT

Students are not to be signed out after 2:00p regardless of the situation. This is because the entire school is preparing for the dismissal of 550 students, including kindergartners. Plan ahead and be mindful of the timing of early sign-outs.

TIMING IS EVERYTHING

While Bloom will open doors to students sharply at 7:00a, school doesn't start until 7:30a. Breakfast starts at 7:00a. FYI: From 7:00a - 7:20a students waiting for school to begin will watch educational television shows (PBS programming).

Students who arrive between 7:20a and 7:30a will head directly to their classrooms. This is ten-minute window is a great option for some families and/or students.

Please be sure that the office has an accurate transportation method for your child(ren) on file at all times and report and changes as soon as possible.
