Dance Team
Ballard is known for its amazing and breathtaking dance team. The team is coached by Jenny Patterson and loves to be surrounded by the Bruinettes. Also the assistant coach, Lauren Martin, enjoys all of the Bruinettes enthusiasm and proudly helps them to the next level. So come out and watch the Bruinettes throughout the year compete and you are guaranteed to be in awe.
Where We Compete
The dance team competes five to six times over the school year not including performances at sporting events. The Bruin Dance Team competes at the local, state and national levels in some of the hardest dance divisions. Our biggest competitions are KHSAA State (held in Lexington) and our Nationals which are held in Orlando Florida! We are so proud that we have placed top 10 in the Nation the past 2 years in Orlando and won a National Title here in Louisville also.
Graduating Class
Many great dancers have graduated to participate at higher levels including college and possibly even higher! Many seniors say that their last year on the dance team is the hardest not only because you are leaving your best friends but because all of these competitions could be their last. Although the seniors are sad to leave they are glad of what they learned and the experiences they have had.
