Ballard High School strives to meet the needs of students, parents, and the community through the implementation of a rigorous and disciplined academic environment as we continue to build upon a long-standing tradition of excellence in academics, the arts, and athletics. Ballard continues to rank among the top schools in the state for number of National Merit Finalists and Governor’s Scholars Program participants. Ballard has some of the highest state assessment scores of all Jefferson County non-selective schools, and students annually outperform Kentucky and U.S. averages on the SAT, Advanced Placement (AP), and ACT tests. Ballard is leading the way in the Academies of Louisville initiative as 1 of the 11 original JCPS high schools that opened as a wall-to-wall Academy school for the 2018-19 school year.
