Journalist Bio:

Hi! I am so excited to be Co-Editor in Chief with Lena for my second year in Journalism. When I'm not designing the layout or editing stories from my fellow journalists, I like to develop stories and podcasts that are both entertaining and informing. I am ready for the school to read, hear and talk about the hard work that the Journalism team has done.

Journalist Bio:

My name is Lena and I am a senior in high school! I've been at Brown since 9th grade and this is my second year in Journalism. Along with my roles as Co-Editor-in-Chief with Evangeline and Layout Designer, I love to write articles that focus on people and showcase the many different perspectives we have at Brown. I enjoy interviewing others for my articles and covering topics that are important to my fellow students.

Fun Fact:

I love reading--my favorite book of all time is Little Women--and I also love to write creatively! When I'm not at school, clubs, work, or keeping up with my hobbies, I love to spend time with my friends and family.

Noah Hedges is a dedicated sports editor for the Brown school paper, responsible for overseeing coverage of various teams and events. With a passion for journalism, they ensure timely updates and engaging stories are delivered to the student body and faculty. Through their work, they help spotlight student-athletes' achievements and foster school spirit within the community.

Journalist Bio:

I fell in love with reading and writing at a young age, so getting the opportunity to do what I love and share it with others is a real treat for me! I especially enjoy sharing my opinions on games, books, movies and shows, which is why I decided to start reviewing!

Fun Fact:

I'm a port, a harbor, a stained glass window enameled with jewels :)

Journalist Bio:

I have always adored reading and writing, and I joined Journalism to combine both passions. I review books (ones I find good - why would anyone want to read a bad book?). I believe that good news should be shared too; we have to focus on the positives of the world. 

Fun Fact:

I like earrings, they're my favorite piece of jewelry! 

Journalist Bio: 

As a journalist, my number one goal is to inform the public and clear up misinformation. I enjoy research projects, especially on hot-button topics. In addition, I'm known for writing reviews--media literacy is a dying art form! My interpretations of media and presentation of scientific facts aim to spark depthful conversations and achieve a new level of understanding in the world of science. I'm proud to be the Science Editor on the journalism staff!

Over 300 people have read my fictional stories online!

Hello, my name is Lila, I am a sophomore at Brown and this is my first year in journalism. I write about events and news that sticks out to me, and create the crossword puzzles for the paper.

I am a mixed woman, Black father, White mother. A huge part of my life was finding my identity, one where the world does not necessarily have to accept me, but that I have to be content. I'm weird, but I find joy in that. Most of my pieces will be about our current political situation, likely set in the United States but welcome to establishing the wrong doings of others.

With the power of God and Anime on my side, I can do anything!

Journalist Bio:

My name is Kennedi! I am a sophomore and this is my first year in journalism. As a journalist, I write about things I am passionate about. I like to do interviews but I also like doing research. I try to include more than just my opinion, but the truth and the facts as well. I believe that everyone deserves a voice. I try my hardest to write in a way that when you read my work, its easy to understand, and maybe you might pick up a new interest 

Fun Fact:

My favorite childhood book is The Miraculous Adventures of Edward Tulane.

My job as a photographer involves getting photos for each event in the school, as well as extra-curricular activities like sports and after-school events. I have multiple years of experience in photography, and have a wide range of different ideas and photography styles.

I'm a podcast host that is going to give a detailed analyst. I will speak from nothing, but the facts. Never letting personal bias interfere with my line of work.With my co host Jermaine we look to give some great podcast episodes that are entertaining and knowledgeable short and quicker to the point.

I play on the Brown school baseball and soccer team and I like writing about updates and news in sports.

I'm podcast host that strives to give the realest and most raw takes and information on the NFL. My Co-host, Terence Bell, and I have a podcast that we want to feel grounded and real. Giving a different perspective of football coming from two sophomores that just love the sport.

Hi! I'm Chloe Cotham and I am a proud member of the Journalism team. I enjoy writing about news issues and current events around the world, and I also enjoy writing about things I am passionate about!

As a journalist I enjoy writing about what I feel passionate about. I love informing the public on my beliefs because I feel like everyone should know what is going on in the world and make at least some sort of an impact. I also really enjoy hearings others perspectives on what they are passionate about and even the different perspectives on my beliefs so I can learn more about the world and apply my knowledge to the public.

Hello, I' m Olivia! I'm very new to journalism as a whole, I just joined the class as a freshman this year. But I'm very passionate about writing and I'm very excited to continue my newfound career in writing articles. Hello my name is Mia and I joined the J. Graham Brown School in 6th grade. I have always had a special interest in journalism and writing so getting to write in the school news paper is an opportunity I truly appreciate. My stories will usually be based on current or past events and cases as those are things I am passionate about and hope to advocate for.

I owned an ostrich when I was younger.

I am a journalist who likes to cover more serious factors that involve governmental situations, political and social events events, etc. I like to share my opinion and cover others' opinions without being bias and hearing other people and what they think about certain topics. I also like to cover more non - serious situations around the work that make people feel better about the society we live in.

Fun Fact:

A fun fact about myself would be that I have taken a only about a few years to learn chess and got really good at it over time.

I try my best to approach research open minded and give my unbiased outlook on whichever  material I am covering. I'd like to bring awareness to unknown topics and shine light on the hidden aspect of popular stories.

As the Journalism Sponsor, my goal is for every staff member to pursue researched stories on what they are passionate about.   I see student journalism as a vital part of the Fourth Estate—holding power accountable, championing transparency, and ensuring that important stories are brought to light; good journalism is essential for a healthy Democracy. I am committed to helping young journalists develop the confidence to speak truth, ask tough questions, and shape narratives through their own authentic voices.  Every student journalist is free to research, explore, and write about what they want.  I consider myself very fortunate to work with the brilliant and brave writers of the J. Graham Brown School.

My daughters, who are 1 and 4, and I love to have dance parties.
