Hello!
My name is Jackie Gardner. I am thrilled to be your child's first grade teacher. I have been the special education teacher for the SED program at our school for the past 6 years. Prior to that I taught 4 years of kindergarten with the very special Mrs. Beabout. I love every role that I have had at West Jeff. I think that being a classroom teacher makes me a better special education teacher and being a special education teacher makes ma a better classroom teacher. So... It was just classroom time this year.
I grew up just down the hill in Morrison. I went to Bear Creek High School. My mom went to Bear Creek High School. My granny went to Bear Creek High school. Our family has been around here for a long time.
I have lived in Evergreen for the past 15 years. I spend a lot of time hiking and looking at wildflowers. This past summer I was able to hike from Kenosha Pass to Breckenridge using the Colorado Trail. That segment is the longest one: 33 miles. I carried a 44 pound pack. It took me 3 days and 2 nights. This was the first solo trip that I have done. I loved it. I used The Spot device to make sure my family knew where I was at all times. I also ski at Winter Park, ride my bike on easy trails and sneak in yoga when I can. I use audiobooks a lot and attend 2 book groups each month. I love to hear what your are reading!
Mitchell is my 19 year old son. He lives in Lakewood with 3 other roommates who are all in a band together. He attends KMG music studio academy in Boulder to study Sound Engineering. So... if you want to go see and up and coming R&B type band... I know a good one. Lucas is my 17 year old son. He is a senior this year at Evergreen High School. He enjoys reading, writing, political science, photography and making films with his friends. My husband, Bob, is an engineer who works a tremendously hard and enjoys skiing, watching sports and reading.
So.... That is all about me and my family. I can't wait to get to know you and your family.
