Ms. Ortiz

On a cool, crisp fall day, several hundred years ago (ok maybe not quite that long), I was born right here in beautiful Colorado! Being the oldest of three children I took on the role of "boss of everything" - or at least I tried. :) I attended Columbine Hills Elementary, Ken Caryl Jr. High, and then graduated from Columbine High School knowing that I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up! So off to the University of Northern Colorado I did trek! 

I have been blessed with 3 amazing children: Dane Alexander (36), Natalie Joe (34), and Blake Anthony (28)! They are talented, intelligent, sporty, funny, and a little bit sassy! I'm extremely proud of each one of them, and they are my "happy"! 

One of my all time favorite things to do is, well, anything with my family - we are a competitive group who love to play sports and games . They are all trash talkers, but not me... I just win baby!! Ha! (Which by the way, is the battle cry of my favorite football team the Raiders! Yes, even despite all the tough seasons). I also love to hang out with friends, explore new restaurants, shop, do yoga, play tennis, hike, watch movies, listen to music, and decorate. When life gets a little crazy, as it sometimes does, I grab a good book or take a relaxing walk with friends!!! 

I am extremely fortunate and very excited to be teaching 4th grade  this year! I get to be a part of an amazing team of teachers, and we have a lot of wonderful units to explore! We will set, reach, and reset goals, celebrate all our achievements and discoveries, and exceed our own expectations!!! I cannot wait to meet, work with, and get to know each one of you!! WELCOME TO 4th GRADE; it is a privilege to get to be your teacher!!!
