Mr. Swaim

My name is Ethan Swaim, and I am excited to be here at Westridge this year. I graduated from the University of Colorado Denver with my Bachelors in Elementary Education, and can’t wait to get to know all of you and your kids. When I am not teaching, I am playing softball, or watching many different sports, like NASCAR and baseball, go Rockies! I can’t wait to see what this year holds, and thank you for sharing your kiddos with me this year.

A Little About Myself:

I grew up in these neck of the woods, going to Normandy Elementary, Ken Caryl Middle School, and then Lakewood High School. I then ventured up to Greeley to be at UNC for a couple of years before moving to the University of Colorado Denver, this way I could do my fine work with the YMCA before and after programs.

My History:

I began working in childcare in 2013. I started with Jeffco’s OELS!

Worked for YMCA as a program leader, assistant director, and summer day camp director.

Spent last year at Parr Elementary in Kindergarten, 2nd, and a bit of time in 4th grade!

I believe that relationships not only drive the classroom, but our society. I make it my mission to get to know every single child. I have run programs and camps of up to 85 kids, and I was able to have a connection point with every single child. My philosophy for education involves creating and supporting all learners. This world does not run without the leaders, artists, athletes, musicians, architects, and so on. They are all right here in these classrooms, so my passion is to help your child find or further their passions.

Thank you all, I believe this is going to be a great year of firsts for child and myself!
