We are your 3rd Grade Teachers!

Hello! My name is Ms. Kim, and I'm so excited to be your 3rd grade teacher this year. I am new to Vanderhoof, and I can't wait to learn about our school!

I grew up in Longmont, CO and went to SVVSD schools. I love living in Colorado because we have so many beautiful places to explore! 

I also went to the University of Colorado Boulder and earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse teaching.

When I'm not at school, I love to see my friends and family, read, craft, and try new things. This past year I started a pottery class for the first time! I try to bring things that I enjoy into the classroom as much as I can, and I hope that we can bring your interests into the classroom, too!

This year I'm excited to meet the Vanderhoof community and build a class family.

Ms. Derrera

Hello, my fellow Roadrunners!

My name is Ms. Derrera. 

I went to the University of Northern Colorado from 2016-2020 where I earned my bachelors in mathematics education . In 2022 I earned my masters in learning design and technology at the University of Colorado, Denver. 

My experience in teaching has been in third, fourth, and fifth grade! 

As far as my personal life, I grew up right here in Arvada with my Mom and her family  who also grew up here. A cool fact is that my cousins went to Vanderhoof as students a long time ago.  I am a big family person and try to spend as much time with them as possible. I have a dog named Burrow who I love dearly.

Personally, I love to travel and try new restaurants so I am always looking for recommendations on where to go! One of my favorite things to do is go on weekend getaways in Colorado’s mountain towns.

I am so excited to be your third grade teacher this year!

Mrs. Blechar

I'm beyond excited to start my 7th year teaching in Jeffco, and my third year at Vanderhoof! I can honestly say I love being a teacher!

I was born and raised in Colorado and it's a joy working and raising a family in this area. My husband Chris and I have 2 daughters.  Sigrid is an 8th grader at Oberon and Zena is a Sophmore at RV. We love to travel, watch sports and explore places both close and far from home. I have a 1 year old Weimaraner and I love takinghim on long walks and new adventures.  Outside of the classroom I enjoy jogging on local trails, reading, gardening and cooking up a storm!

I have a degree in International Affairs and a Masters in Elementary Education. I love teaching math and science, as well as helping students develop a love for reading.

This year I am looking forward to meeting new students, families and staff. I hope to share my love of learning!
