My name is Mary Higgins. I am a proud product of Jeffco schools. I went to Secrest, Oberon and Arvada West. After high school I went to UNC in Greeley and graduated with a degree in Sociology: Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology. I traveled for a while after college and lived in Germany. Then I decided to go back to school and become a teacher. I think I always knew that is what I would become.
I student taught here at Vanderhoof in 1999 and have never left. I love Vanderhoof, we have the best teachers, students and parents. Our support staff and administration make everything run smoothly and are fabulous.. I hope to spend my whole career here with this amazing community..
When I am not at school or working on things for school I enjoy reading. I love to read at night before I go to sleep, my favorite genre is historical fiction. I love to travel and hope one day to go to Africa. I also love to spend time with my family and friends.
I’m Mrs. Trapp and I’m teaching 3rd Grade. I love teaching!! It’s Challenging and rewarding. The best aspect of teaching is watching the students grow and learn.
The Vanderhoof community has been a part of my life for twenty-three years with seventeen of those years teaching. My husband, Tom, and I live in Arvada and have three children. We have two daughters and a son, which are all adults and living in the Denver Metro area. Both of our girls are married and have children of their own.
In my spare time I love to read, garden, watch football, walk my dog, and spend time with my family and friends. One of my passions has become being a DIYer. We’ve done many projects at home and I keep thinking up the next project we can tackle.
