Hi, I am Ms.  Melissa Broaddus!  I student taught at Vanderhoof  22 years ago and this has been my home ever since.   I have been in Colorado most of my life, although the ocean has my heart.    I am a Jeffco graduate as well and love teaching and supporting the district that I was once a student in.  I received my undergrad degree from Metro State in Denver and my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Colorado Christian University.  I have wanted to be a teacher ever since my 5th grade teacher Mrs. Nelson inspired me.  She made such a difference in my life at such an impressionable age and we are still in touch today!  I am honored and blessed to teach and pour into the lives of children.   At home, I am blessed with an amazing son, my dachshund Koda, and kitty Baxter.

My Favorites:

-Anything Purple

-Starbucks Pink Drinks

-Going to the movies

-Time with family and friend

-The Beach

-Kid food and shirley temples with cherries

I am excited to embark upon another year of learning, growing, and teaching your precious children. It is a true gift to be able to call all of you my “School Family!”

Hello!  I am Koda, a six year old Piebald Dachshund. My mom rescued me 5 years ago, but I really rescued her!  This is my third year working at Vanderhoof as a pet therapy pup.  I also volunteer at Children’s Hospital visiting children that need love and cheer. You may see me wandering the halls on Fridays, which is the day I get to come to school.  I may be small, but I have a big personality and lots of love to share!  I love to visit classrooms and enjoy when kids write to me.  I even have my very own mailbox!  I can’t wait to get back to school and see you soon!

-Sleeping under the covers
