Hi, I am Ms. Melissa Broaddus! I student taught at Vanderhoof 25 years ago and this has been my home ever since. I have been in Colorado most of my life, although the ocean has my heart.
I am a Jeffco graduate as well and love teaching and supporting the district that I was once a student in. I received my undergrad degree from Metro State in Denver and my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Colorado Christian University. I have wanted to be a teacher ever since my 5th grade teacher Mrs. Nelson inspired me. She made such a difference in my life at such an impressionable age and we are still in touch today! I am honored to teach and pour into the lives of children. At home, I am blessed with an amazing son Tanner, my dachshund Koda, and kitty Oliver. I am also a Gigi to my granddaughter Rayla.
My Favorites:
-Anything Purple
-Ziggi's Vanilla bee iced Chai
-Going to the movies
-Time with family and friends
-The Beach
-Kid food and Shirley Temples with cherries
I am excited to embark upon another year together of learning, growing, and teaching your precious children. It is a true gift to be able to call all of you my “School Family!”

Hello second grade families! I am Mrs. Drumright and I'm so happy to be teaching second grade. I am a Vanderhoof alumni and all three of my children attended as well. Vanderhoof feels like home!
I previously taught in Jefferson County at Prospect Valley in Applewood and then took time off to raise my family. When I returned to teaching I was at St. Anne's.
My husband John and I are both Colorado natives. We have two sons, Dominic and Luke and a daughter, Emma. We have two little dogs Molly and Pippa. My son Dominic and his wife Maddie are expecting our first grandchild in November!
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family. We enjoy traveling, spending time in the mountains, and playing pickleball.
I am so excited to be teaching second grade this year and working with your wonderful children!

Hello! I am Koda, a 9 year old Piebald Dachshund. My mom rescued me 8 years ago, but I really rescued her! This is my sixth year working at Vanderhoof as a pet therapy pup. I also volunteer at Children’s Hospital visiting children that need love and cheer. You may see me wandering the halls on Fridays, which is the day I get to come to school. I may be small, but I have a big personality and lots of love to share! I love to visit classrooms and enjoy when kids write to me. I even have my very own mailbox! I can’t wait to get back to school and see you soon!
