Volunteer During Literacy Time - We need help during our literacy time! If you are available from 9:30-10:30 and would want to come help us in our classroom with signing into Chromebooks, reading with small groups of kiddos, helping complete pages out of our workbooks, and writing, we would appreciate it! Our lesson starts about 9:30, but it would be great if you could be there to hear what we are doing during our independent work time. Thank you so much!
Let’s get right down to it… how to pronounce that long, complicated-looking name of mine! It’s actually pretty easy - Des (like bee with a d - dee) Moi (like boy with an m - moy) neaux (no - like nope, nada, not gonna happen) = dee-moy-no.
I have been a teacher for 19 years. I did take a few years off to be a stay-at-home mom, but I have been back at it for the last 10 years. I earned my BS in mathematics as well as my teaching certification from the University of Colorado. I have taught kindergarten for most of my teaching career, but I have also taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and was a reading specialist as well.
I am a Colorado native and grew up in Arvada attending Jeffco public schools. I have two wonderful teenagers! My son is a freshman in college heading off to attend Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin where he will be playing lacrosse. My daughter is a sophomore at Ralston Valley and she plays soccer at RV and with the Edge. I also have a furry baby, Ella, a 5-year-old yellow lab.
I like to cook, walk, go to concerts, hang out with my family, and watch sports (professional and my kids).
Some of my favorites are: the color violet (half pink, half purple), dark chocolate, salty snacks, elephants and butterflies. I am allergic to tree nuts, but peanuts are fine, and I am lactose intolerant so I avoid eating dairy products (cheese and milk).
Email is the best way to get in touch with me and I will do my very best to get back to you in a timely manner.
