Welcome to SCIENCE at North Arvada Middle School. This is my sixth year at North Arvada, so let me introduce myself.

I live in Arvada with my husband and have four children, two grandchildren, 3 granddogs, three dogs, a cat, 2 lizards, four bee hives, and my classic Mustang. I love hiking, biking, gardening, playing pickleball, kayaking, and doing Zumba. My Bachelor’s Degree is through Metropolitan State College of Denver, Master’s degree through University of Colorado, Earth Science certification through Colorado School of Mines, trained in STEM and Invention Literacy through CU and Mines teacher enhancement. I am highly qualified in Elementary Education, and endorsed in Secondary Science and Gifted and Talented.

I have had the privilege of teaching sixth, seventh, and 8th grade GT, regular ed, and special education students in math, science, and language arts in Jefferson County for over 25 years, including 10 at Belmar and 15 at Van Arsdale Elementary. Learning and writing about science is a passion, and I have published four books with the American Water Works Association, and What’s the Matter with Starting 6th Grade? with Dorrance Publishing. I have written and implemented the Outdoor Lab GT Aquatic Biology curriculum for our high potential week and teach 7th graders up there each summer. I love teaching at North Arvada Middle School and look forward to meeting each of you.
