Texas is the second biggest state in the United States of America. Texas is known for hot weather, sunshine, and barely any rain or snow. Texas is known for barbecue. The state insect is the monarch butterfly, the state plant is the prickly pear cactus, and the state tree is the pecan tree, and is in most backyards. Texas is known as the lone star state, due to the flag, with one star. Texas is known for the battle of the Alamo, when Texas became it's own country and not just part of mexico. Later it became part of the U.S. Texas also has the Johnson Space Center, a NASA command center.
Since 1848, the Rio Grande river has marked the border of El paso TX, U.S., and Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico. The Rio grande is a beautiful sight to see. It pours into the Gulf of Mexico, and starts from the melting snow on the mountains of Colorado.
