Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at Slater PreK!

My name is Mylana Brooks, and I will be your child’s preschool teacher. This is my fifth year teaching preschool at Slater Elementary. In my free time I enjoy nature and hiking. I have two daughters (11 and 7) who are my muses. 

We are very excited to welcome everyone to the new school year! Some of you know me from last year and some are joining our preschool community this year.

Back to school night is Monday, August 14th, 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm. School supplies can be dropped during that time.

At 4.00 pm I will be holding a presentation to share some important information about preschool. It will take about 30 mins, please plan on attending, especially if it's the first year for your student. If you can't make it, please let me know.

The first day of school is Tuesday, August 15th. Please, remember to sign in and drop your child off at the preschool door (on the left side of the building when you're facing the school). Students dropped off after 8.15 am will be marked as tardy.

Lastly, below is our supply list:

Please, mark everything with your child's name as much as possible

1 change of clothes including 1 pair of socks and underwear

1 crib sheet and blanket for naptime 

1 small travel pillow and/or favorite stuffed animal 

1 pack of baby wipes 

1 pack of band aids

1 simple plastic pencil box (no metal please)

1 pocket folder 

1 white 3 inch binder

1 box of thick washable markers 

1 bottle of Elmer’s glue

1 set of Crayola washable watercolors

1 bag of pony beads

1 box of dry erase markers

1 Picture of your Family (We place around the room for children to see)

BOYS -     1 pack of sidewalk chalk

                  1 bag of pipe cleaners

                  1 pack of liquid food coloring

                  1 pack of stickers

                  1 container of salt

GIRLS -      1 pack of Emer's glue sticks

                   1 box of pasta for stringing

                   1 bag of paper plates

                   1 small bag of flour

                   1 container of cream of tartar

If your child is in pull-ups, please bring some to keep in the classroom and an extra pack of wipes! Thank you!
