My name is Emily Rettler and I am the Social Emotional Learning Specialist (SEL) at Mandalay Middle School. 

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and have two Masters degrees in Clinical/Counseling Psychology and School Counseling. 

I have been a professional in this field for over sixteen years, a SEL in Jeffco for five years, and this is my second year at Mandalay. I am very passionate about supporting students' social/emotional needs. The SEL skills we learn are so important, especially at this middle school stage of life. 

Watching my students develop their social/emotional skills and practice these skills in their daily life is so rewarding and is why I do what I do! A person who can effectively manage their social/emotional needs goes out into the world and has the tools they need to thrive. And this helps them to live a happy, healthy, balanced life, which is what we want for all of our students at Mandalay.
