Senior Day is May 10th and the end of season banquet is on May 19th. Reminders will go out on Team Snap.
We as a staff believe that participation in high school athletics is a privilege, not a right. The athlete earns a position on the team through dedication, commitment, a good attitude, hard work, and team play. Not everyone can meet these criteria.
Not every player will get equal playing time, but every player is equally important to the team’s success. Each member of the team needs to learn their role and perform their part to the best of their ability. If we are going to achieve our goals, individually as well as collectively, a total and unselfish team effort is required.
We expect the following from our players:
To get an education
To respect your teammates and the teams you play against
To practice to the best of your ability
To be loyal to your school, administration, teachers, coaches, teammates, family and friends
To be on time
To be courteous
To work hard and always put the team first
Practice does not make perfect – Practice makes permanent. No matter what you do, if you practice long enough, it will become part of you. Practice a bad habit and you will become great at a bad habit. Practice being second class and you will become second class. Practice being first class, and you will become first-class. The choices you make in tough situations will be the habits that you develop. When you choose a bad habit, you also choose the end result of that habit. Our practice attitude is the key to our success as a team.
REMEMBER: “What you do speaks so loud, I can’t hear what you say.” Leaders are leaders because of what they do; not what they say they are going to do. Every player must strive to be a positive example - CLASS, DISCIPLINE, DEDICATION, AGGRESSIVENESS, UNSELFISHNESS, AND THE TOTAL TEAM EFFORT. When you practice - Work to accomplish something - Putting in time ensures nothing. It matters not where you start - What matters is where you finish.
