Three Seasons, One Passion — High School Hockey All Year Long!
High school hockey isn’t just a winter sport — it runs year-round with Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons, each offering unique opportunities for players to compete and grow.
Fall Season: Colorado Prep Hockey League (CPHL) - August - November
The CPHL was founded in 2012 as the prime supporter of the High School Colorado High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) Hockey winter season. The CPHL is a USA Hockey and CAHA sanctioned league. We offer levels of play for High School teams (Tier1, Tier2) in Colorado so that they can better prepare for the CHSAA winter season. The CPHL added a Girls Tier 1 Division in the 2023-2024 Season.
Winter Season: Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) - November - March
The CHSAA hockey season brings together high school athletes from across the region for a fast-paced, competitive, and team-driven experience. With intense rivalries, packed arenas, and a strong tradition of sportsmanship, the season showcases the very best of student- athlete dedication and school pride. From tryouts to the championship chase, every shift counts. Lace up — it’s game time!
Spring Season: High Plains Hockey Leage (HPHL) - March - May
The High Plains High School Hockey League, established during the 2000-2001 season, is a community-based league dedicated to promoting and advancing high school ice hockey in Colorado, with a focus on the Denver metro and Front Range areas. By connecting the sport of hockey with a player’s local community, we aim to foster a healthy expression of school pride.
