Transcripts & Letters of Recommendation
Please see the instructions below for requesting OFFICIAL transcripts. If you only need an UNOFFICIAL transcript, students and parents can always download unofficial transcripts from Infinite Campus.
To access your unofficial transcript, log on to Infinite Campus >> click "documents" on the black sidebar to the left >> scroll to the bottom of the new page >> click "unofficial transcript" >> it will open in a new tab.
How to Send Transcripts to Colleges
Sending transcripts requires 3 steps to be completed in this order:
1. In Naviance, add institution to “Colleges I’m Applying to”
If you’re applying via the Common App, your accounts must be matched

2. Fill out blue form in Counseling Office
You can fill out as many forms as you need
Return to Ms. Snyder once you have filled it out completely
At least 10 school days in advance of when you need them sent
3. Pay transcript fees in your school account
Transcripts for college or NCAA/NAIA cost $3 each, but scholarships are free
Access via Parent Portal or guest fee payment link on RV website under Families
How to Request a Letter of Recommendation
Requesting letters of requires 3 steps to be completed in this order:
1. In Naviance, Complete “Letter of Recommendation Form”
In the upper right corner, click on the blue circle that has your initials
Select Surveys from Your School from the dropdown menu
Find *Class of 2024 - Letter of Recommendation Form
Complete as many questions as you feel are relevant
2. In person, ask your teacher if they’d be willing to write you a letter of rec
3. Once you’ve talked with your teacher, in Naviance, send LOR request
Click Colleges on the toolbar
Select Letters of Recommendation from the drop down menu
Click Add Request
Select a teacher
Select which colleges you want their letter send to → pay attention to min/max
Submit request
Important Reminders
**If you're applying to any schools via the Common App, make sure...
You've matched your Common App with Naviance
All the schools you're requesting for are in both your Naviance and Common App college lists
Your teachers cannot submit their letters until these are complete.
Teachers will submit their letters directly to colleges and it is your responsibility to make sure that they have been sent.
**Naviance does not allow you to request recommenders outside of RVHS. The Common App does, and here is a video that explains how to do so. Please contact your counselor if you have any other questions about one of your recommenders.

Initial vs. Midyear vs. Final Transcripts
Your first transcript request in Naviance is considered your initial request. Once you have submitted an initial transcript request, your midyear transcript (with your first semester grades) will be automatically sent to the college. There is no additional fee for midyear transcripts.
Final transcripts are only sent to the college you have selected that you will be attending in Naviance. So, make sure once you've accepted an admissions offer somewhere, you indicate your decision in Naviance. You can only send one final transcript and there is no additional fee.
