Colorado Thespians offers numerous opportunities for students at ThesCon and beyond. Students can participate in Individual Events or Thespys, apply to be a student leader through our State Thespian Officer program, audition for a number of colleges and universities, and so much more. Thescon is a weekend filled with active theatre workshops designed especially for high school students.
At Thescon, Tech Challenge showcases student skills in six technical theater events. Competing against the clock, participants must complete each event while upholding industry standards. Tech Challenge is a timed event. We need people from all tech departments to help us compete! If you're interested in joining the team talk to Tommy Feijoo or Mrs. Wicke.
Attend workshops to improve your skills acting, singing, and dancing. Students are given the opportunity to perform IE's (Individual Events) to get feedback on their song or monologue. All actors are highly encouraged to step out of their comfort zone and take a technical centered session!
Professionals from around the state teach classes to make you a better technician. Students are given the opportunity to present technical IE's to show their hard work and receive feedback. All technicians are highly encouraged to step out of their comfort zone and take a cast centered session!

The International Thespian Festival (ITF) is a premier annual event celebrating all aspects of theatre through performances, workshops, a college fair, and the prestigious Thesby Awards. It offers students hands-on experience, networking with professionals, and a chance to see top national productions, fostering community and growth in performance. At RV Manestage ITF is an available opportunity for above and beyond thespians who have earned an overall superior rating on a Thescon performed/ presented IE. If you did not receive an overall superior but are still interested please express interest to Wicke.
The Manestage Leadership Board is looking for students who want to bring us together. Do you have ideas for socials, fundraisers, or ways to make troupe meetings and Manestage theatre more fun? We want you! The Troupe Board is the voice of the students advocating for the cast and crew and ensuring everyone feels welcome. Come help us build a drama family that lasts long after the curtain falls.
Rising juniors and seniors can apply to be a State Thespian Officer and represent your school at the state level. A Colorado Student Thespian Officer is a leader in the community, representing the youth voice at select events during their time as an officer. In addition, they teach workshops at conference, help organize the Share the Dream campaign, work as ambassadors at ThesCon, and work alongside the adult board to make sure ThesCon and Jr ThesCon run smoothly.
JSTAT is composed of student leaders from various schools throughout the district. Together, they work to elevate the quality and recognition of all Jeffco theatre programs. JSTAT members convene several times throughout the year to collaborate on a variety of projects, including festivals, school partnerships, advocacy, marketing and program enhancement. Our troupe moving forward will have a Junior JSTAT and a Senior JSTAT, allowing the following officers the ability to serve for 2 consecutive years. Interviews for JSTAT positions will be held around the time for Manestage Leadership Board.
The Student Leadership Summit is a one-day event that brings together students from across the Colorado Thespians community to attend workshops designed to hone student leadership and advocacy skills. Students have the opportunity to network with other passionate individuals, learn important skills, and take away strategies for effective leadership in their communities. The summit is for Student Leaders within our program (officers, are highly recommended to attend). Communicate your intrest to Wicke to be considered.
