This class was pretty interesting. It was a fun learning experience to be educated about other countries and do projects on them. If you have the opportunity to take this class I would definitely recommend it. In this class you will learn about 8 elements of culture including language, food, religion, history, geography, holidays and traditions, arts and literature and pop culture. There will be a big project about a specific country and a little bit of Spanish, French, German and Japanese. This is one of my favorite classes I've ever taken at Carmody. It really challenges you to do your best and take pride in your work. I give it a 4 and a half stars because the class was fun! This is one of my favorite classes I've ever taken at Carmody. Let's Discuss the "Race Against the Clock'' event that significantly impacts our school. Many teachers and students are engaging in physical activities; if you're not doing so, it's time to join the action. The prizes include candy bars and Takis, and if you win by getting the most hours, you can win some AirPods. You can do any physical exercise. For example, you can run, walk to school, walk a dog, do push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, biking, play a sport, lift weights, swim, dance, hike, kayak, paddleboard, yoga, gardening, or any other exercises. These are only a few suggestions. Remember to get a witness who can verify your exercise, and please get permission from them to ensure that you did the exercise. For verification, trusted adults or siblings may enter activity information.

National Make your Own Country Day
On November 22, there is this special day that you can celebrate called, “National start your own country day.” Use your imagination as best as you can and be creative while also thinking of the traits of a country and what it needs to have or be done. Westernaries is a really good place to learn to ride horses. Now a little bit of history about this organization. Fort Westernarie has been home to Westernaries since 1959 and is home to more than 1,000 riders, 400 adults, and 200 horses who work together to achieve the Westernaries goals. The Westernaries were first organized in 1949 by the Lakewood Youth Council. They then moved to Jeffco Fairgrounds where they expanded on their organization. Kids from age 9-19 join Westernaries because they want to have fun and learn leadership skills while learning how to groom, saddle and ride horses. Westernaries has an upcoming show called the Horsecapades where you can watch the kids do stunts, perform drills, and do skits while on horseback. It is also the Westernaries home show and their biggest annual fundraiser, as this organazation is non-profit.
Art can be a very fun yet challenging skill. It can take some time and determination. It may even take a couple years of effort to get to where you wanna be but it all pays off when you are proud. Another way to learn art without being solo is to join the art club! Ms. Oritz is a great teacher and is always happy to help someone who wants to learn this challenging skill. And not all of it is just pencil and paper! during this club you can crochet, learn digital art, craft and meet amazing new people. (Wednesday)
