Milissa Mills is in her fifth year teaching Choral Music at Pomona High School and her 18th year with Jefferson County Public Schools. An Arvada native, Milissa graduated from Arvada High School, where she was an active member of the performing arts program, participating in choir, marching band and color guard. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Metropolitan State College of Denver and a Master of Music in Conducting from Colorado State University. Milissa currently performs with the Alpine Chorale. Milissa resides in Arvada with her husband, Craig and three children, Parker, MacKenzie and Megan.

Molly Brennan-Choral Accompanist


Molly Brennan is in her third year accompanying the Pomona High School Choirs. She received her bachelor's degree in Sacred Music from Concordia University, Nebraska and her master's degree in Music Education from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is currently the accompanist for the Alpine Chorale and the organist for Risen Christ Lutheran Church, both located in Arvada, Colorado. She is also one of the accompanists for the annual Citywide Honor Choir Festival for Denver Public Schools, and beginning this year, she is the accompanist for the Broomfield Children's Chorus. Molly also teaches piano and organ lessons in Arvada.

McKayla Marso-Choreographer

McKayla Marso is in her second year choreographing with the Pomona Choir Department. She is an active theatre professional/choreographer in the Denver metro area. When she's not choreographing at various studios or schools, you can find her on the local stages of the Arvada Center, Aurora Fox and BDT Stage. She recently returned from Seattle, WA where she frequently performs at The 5th Avenue Theatre. McKayla received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Musical Theatre from the Univ. of Northern Colorado in 2008. Since then she's performed in two Broadway national tours, two cruise ships and multiple regional theatres across the country. Her teaching career started 10 years ago at various studios in Colorado including The Dance Factory and Cherry Creek Dance. She finds that sharing her passion with the next generation of artists is the most fulfilling part of her work.

Melissa Swift-Sawyer-Vocal Coach

Melissa Swift-Sawyer is in her second year vocal coaching with the Pomona Choir Department. She is an award winning actress and singer with over 30 years’ experience. Melissa wrote, directed and starred in her own One-Woman Show about her experiences playing Country Singer, Patsy Cline and she has taught many drama and vocal workshops for Elementary, Middle and High Schools all over Colorado. She has taught Private Voice Lessons at The Denver Music Institute, beginning in 1999, and now teaches Voice, Acting and Piano at her home. Melissa is excited to be part of the Pomona Vocal Music Team!
