Milissa Mills is in her eleventh year teaching Vocal Music at Pomona Jr/Sr School and her 24th year as a music educator with Jefferson County Public Schools. She has taught a variety of performing arts classes for grades 1-12, including elementary general music, middle school choir, theatre, and color guard, as well as high school marching band, color guard, piano and choir. Milissa is the current director of Pomona’s six vocal ensembles, including Midnight Vocal Ensemble, which was a Colorado Music Educators Association Honor Performing Ensemble at the 2022 CMEA Clinic and Conference. She is also the advisor of Pomona’s Tri-M Chapter. She is a member of the National Association for Music Education and American Choral Directors Association.
An Arvada native, Milissa graduated from Arvada High School, where she was an active member of the performing arts program participating in choir, band, and color guard. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from Metropolitan State College of Denver and a Master of Music in Conducting from Colorado State University. Milissa currently performs with the Alpine Chorale. Milissa resides in Arvada with her husband Craig and her three children, Parker, MacKenzie, and Megan.
Molly Brennan-Collaborative Pianist

Molly Brennan is in her ninth year as the collaborative pianist for the Pomona Jr/Sr High School Choir Department. She received her bachelor's degree in Sacred Music from Concordia University, Nebraska, and her master's degree in Music Education from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is currently the accompanist for the Alpine Chorale and the organist for Risen Christ Lutheran Church, both located in Arvada, Colorado. She is the director of the Tour Choir for the Broomfield Children's Chorus. Molly teaches piano and organ lessons in Arvada. Molly lives is Arvada with her husband Steve, and their dogs.
Melissa Swift-Sawyer-Vocal Coach
Melissa Swift-Sawyer is in her seventh year vocal coaching with the Pomona Choir Department. She is an award winning actress and singer with over 30 years’ experience. Melissa wrote, directed and starred in her own One-Woman Show about her experiences playing Country Singer, Patsy Cline and she has taught many drama and vocal workshops for Elementary, Middle and High Schools all over Colorado. She has taught Private Voice Lessons at The Denver Music Institute, beginning in 1999, and now teaches Voice, Acting and Piano at her home. Melissa is excited to be part of the Pomona Vocal Music Team!
Dr. Cody Laun-Vocal Coach
Dr. Cody Laun is a native of the Denver-metro region, where he is in high demand as a soloist, and also participates in several chamber music ensembles throughout the area, including Colorado Bach Ensemble and Anima Chamber Ensemble. He has been seen regionally with companies such as Des Moines Metro Opera, Opera Mississippi, Mobile Opera, The Muses Creative Artistry Project, and Opera Colorado, among others. His competition credits include the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions (regional finalist), and NATSAA (national semi finalist). This coming season includes appearances with Opera Colorado (Borsa in Rigoletto), Colorado Christian University (Bach’s Magnificat), and Boulder Opera (Manon). Cody has served as special assistant professor of voice at Colorado State University, and is currently a member of the voice faculty at Colorado Christian University and New Saint Andrews College. This is Dr. Laun's third year at Pomona High School.
