EDU 221: Introduction to Education focuses on the historical, social, political, philosophical, cultural, and economic forces that shape the United States public school system. This course includes current issues of education reform, technology as it relates to education, and considerations related to becoming a teacher in the state of Colorado. The course addresses the educational theory and practices from Early Childhood Education (ECE) through secondary education.
EDU 2215: Introduction to Education Techniques (to be taken as a co-requisite with EDU 2211) provides opportunities to explore teacher dispositions and skills through hands-on work experience under the immediate supervision of experienced personnel in an educational setting related to an educator program of study. Direct guidance is provided by the course instructor in educational settings from PreK – 12th grade.
