Welcome Parents!

This year will be a great year for your student. It will be filled with ups and downs with friends, family, and academically . They will look to you for support and love throughout the year! They will look to you for support and love through this new chapter in their life. Be a cheerleader in their education and challenge them to be a better learner and steward.

The 2020-2021 school year will be filled with many unknowns. I will try to make the "new" seem not so new to myself and to your students. I will be trying many things new this year due to the situation we are put in so please give me grace and your students as we maneuver through this year.

You can expect your student to be challenged and this may cause them to struggle. We are looking for constructive struggle, this is where students have to problem solve and work through tasks in order to figure out the solution. We want students to struggle so they can feel failure and success. Middle school is a great time for your student to learn these lessons. If they don't feel some sort of failure they will never know the feeling of success.

You can expect me to be here for your student. I am here to be their teacher! This means a number of different things to different people but to me it means that I am here to support and guide them in their learning. I am here to be a support system for them at school to come to with questions about content, school, and life. Please encourage your student to come and meet with me when they are struggling or not!

You can expect them to love Dunstan! It is a great place for students to grow and learn to be themselves. There are a number of wonderful opportunities for you student to get involved in and encourage them to do so! Please reach out to me first with questions, comments, or concerns as we go through the year. I have found we can usually solve any issues and come up with the best solution for your student if we work together.

It's going to be a great year.
